Product Information

This is a scarce pre WWI Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori, model M96 Swedish Mauser rifle that was factory converted during WWII into an M38 carbine or short rifle. Originally manufactured 1911, it was decided in 1937 to convert the aging M96 long rifle into shorter rifles similar to the German K98k. Between 1938 and 1940, 55,080 were factory converted into the m38. This is one of those rifles.

This example has ALL matching numbers, including all bolt pieces and wood work. Until recently this example was in use with the MOD. The white painted band signifies that it was used for training and not a live weapon. Still in amazing condition although the rear sight is missing and is replaceable!

Deactivated with working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Comes with an EU/UK certificate of deactivation. Comes with original cleaning rod.
