Product Information

A great condition WWII Nazi K98. This example was manufactured by Mauser under secret code "byf" in 1941. Mauser marked their guns with Waffenamt acceptance stamp Eagle over 655. Virtually all parts are matched and original to the rifle including the complete bolt assembly and wood work. Around this period solid wood work was being phased out and laminated stocks were being introduced. This one has its original solid wood work that it fitted with a cupped butt plate. This was introduced in an attempt to help prevent the wood work from splitting. An unusual feature is the remnants of two small holes in the receiver. This is where a scope mount would have been fitted. BYF coded K98's from this period are known to have been converted into sniper rifles. Included are a cleaning rod and sight hood cover. Deactivated with a working actin it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
