An early Mauser (S/42 coded) K98. Considering this K98 was produced 77 years ago and would have been involved in many battles during its service life, it still retains many original parts. The lower woodwork, complete floor plate, magazine assembly and rare sight parts are original to the carbine. It is correctly marked with Nazi Waffenamt “WaA63” proofs which can be found in conjunction with the earlier shaped Weimar eagles. The SS are known to have acquired and issued 1937 dated Mauser Oberndorf K98s. Eventually this K98 fell into Norwegian hands and was marked and used by their forces. This one is marked to the Norwegian army (HÆR) where it remained until recently before being imported by us. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
