Product Information

A Second World War Nazi MG42 machine gun. It was manufactured by Gustloff Werke under secret code dfb in 1944 (MU =1944). The serial number 4562g falls well within the known blocks allocated to Gustloff that year. They managed to produce around 65,000 MG42 in 1944, but their overall production was fairly short lived only manufacturing them from 1943 to 1945. The receiver is correctly stamped with Eagle over WaA4. It had a fantastic rate of fire at 1200 rounds a minute and was nick-named "Hitlers buzz saw" by US troops. They are still in use in modified form today.

The additional marking "BH" are those of the Bundes Heer or Austrian Army. In the aftermath of WWII, and under Allied supervision, Austria was permitted to re-arm and self govern. Utilising the huge quantities of captured Nazi weaponry, the Allies gave the Austrian military various firearms including MG42's

A real German WWII classic. Deactivated with a moving cocking lever and trigger, removable stock and hinged barrel gate. The top cover can be opened. It comes with 50 inert of 7.92mm rounds, belt and Nazi marked follower tab.
