Product Information

This is a very interesting Second World War issued Nazi Luger. Originally manufactured in 1937 by Mauser, it was at some stage during WWII captured by Russian forces. Russia seized great numbers of weapons from the German's, during and at the end of the war. Many were refinished and re issued. This made good sense, and was cost affective, as Russia was in need of good reliable guns. This examples has an "X" stamped on the under side of the frame. This signifies that it is Russian captured and represents two crossed rifles. The grips are also Russian as is the crude electro stenciled "81" on the side plate. All visible numbers match on the pistol. A very interesting and well traveled piece, originally an Axis pistol, it ended up becoming an Allied one. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. This pistol would make a great addition to either an Axis or Allied collection, with its "double life".
