This is a WWII German PO8 Luger that was manufactured by Mauser in 1941 (byf 41). Mauser made around 126,000 Luger's that year and stamped them with the Nazi acceptance Eagle over 655 and "PO8". Post WWII this Luger fell into communist ownership and was again in service. Many were issued to the infamous "Stasi" East German Ministry for State Security or State Security Service, and the Volkspolizei or VoPo - East German Police. A fascinating pistol that saw service in WWII and during the Cold War.
