Product Information

A great condition WWII Nazi K98. This example was manufactured by Mauser under secret code "byf" in 1943. In 1943 Mauser marked their guns with Waffenamt acceptance stamp Eagle over 135. Virtually all parts are matched and original to the rifle including the complete bolt assembly and wood work. 1943 also saw in introduction of simplified parts, note the nose cap and lack of inspectors Waffen stamps. This was done in an attempt to increase output numbers. An unusual feature is the remnants of two small holes in the receiver. This is where a scope mount would have been fitted. BYF coded K98's from this period are known to have been converted into sniper rifles. Its most likely that after the war and whilst under Norwegian ownership it was converted back to a standard infantry rifle. Deactivated with a working actin it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
