Product Information

This is an unusual WWII Nazi P38. The slide was manufactured by Mauser in 1944 (byf 44) and the frame by Walther. Mauser used acceptance stamp Eagle over 135 on their P38's, and Walther Eagle over 359. This pistol bears no other countries capture or ownership stamps which leads us to believe that this pistol may have been a German armorers field repaired pistol. The late war dated slide can only have been used during the latter stages of WWII. 1944 saw German forces retreating on all fronts with many of its weapons facilities being captured or destroyed. In an attempt to provide weapons, German armorers would use existing serviceable spares and parts in this manor to keep their forced armed. The P38 was produced by three makers during wartime production but because they were manufactured to such a high standards, parts were interchangeable. Once assembly was compete, the armorer would re-number all the parts to match as exhibited on this fine example.

Note, the Mauser manufactured barrel's serial number carries no letter suffix, denoting that it is number 9530th of that years production.
