A lovely condition early production Spreewerk (coded CYQ )P38 pistol. Spreewerk pistols were not date coded like Walther and Mauser examples, instead the serial number was used as a date reference. The lower the letter suffix the earlier the date, this pistol ( serial number 8207a) being from one of a small early batch from March 1943. Spreewerk only manufactured 6300 P38s in March of 43, this being number 4707th. Correctly marked with Waffen code Eagle over 88 and in great condition with matching numbers and wartime grips and magazine. Spreewerk only managed to produced around 283,000 from 1942 to 1945, the fewest of the three P38s manufacturers during the second world war. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
