Product Information

This is an matching numbers First World War dated Imperial German Army, Artillery Luger. Manufactured by DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken), this example still has its original finish. Dated 1917, the serial number has an "a" letter suffix, meaning that this is pistol number 16,976th of that years production. The pistol grip is marked "184.R.3" this is an abbreviation for the 184th Infantry Regiment , 3rd Kompany.

In the aftermath of WWI the Allied Commission created the Treaty of Versailles banning Germany from having weapons longer then 100mm. This meant all Artillery Lugers had to have shorter barrels fitted. Thankfully this one still has its original one. The Artillery Luger was a prized war trophy and many were smuggled home.
