This is a Second World War German K98 rifle that is fitted with a Dr. Walter Gerard M4 X scope, mounts and rail attachment. The scope has excellent clear optics. The rifle was made in 1939 by Mauser Werke A.G.Berlin-Borsigwalde under secret Nazi makers code "243", and lots of crisp Nazi WaA stamps. A great looking display item. The K98 in sniper form was a formidable weapon and was used to great affect during WWII. A regiments sniper was one of the hardest working soldiers, often sent ahead of the unit to cause havoc among Allied forces. If captured, they were often harshly dealt with!
