Product Information

Very rarely seen, this is a completely originally Imperial German Army first world war Gew98 that was reissued for Nazi Germany's war effort. Produced in 1917 by DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) , every single part is matched including, complete bolt assembly, complete magazine assembly. wood work and barrel bands and even some screws. Before and during WWII the Nazi's reworked and then reissued many serviceable WWI Gew98s. This example is one of those rifles, correctly coded on the right hand side below the upgraded K98 rear sight with S/42G (Mauser) and correctly stamped and on the barrel with Waffen code WaA214 three times. Note the intricate dovetailed armorers repair to the butt-stock. It is well known that quantities of the rifles were issued to the SS (as per photo). A very rare and complete rifle that shares its history with both world wars. Very few of these now exist. This example having been is a private collection for many years. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
