Product Information

This is a very early production Mauser Borsigwalde made K98 coded S/243. Mauser Borsigwalde only made an estimated 40,000 K98s in 1936 and was only its second year of full K98 production. The serial number (2408), would mean that this is one of, if not the earliest known example from that batch. Note it has no letter suffix after the serial number. Generally when starting a new years producing serial numbers would start from 1 and finish at 9999, then 1a to 9999a and so on. This is number two thousand, four hundred and eight!! Incredibly this example is virtually all matched parts, including both upper and lower wood work, floor plate assembly, barrel bands and bolt assembly, this itself is very unusual. All known K98s were assigned to the army and this one is correctly marked with the letter H (Heer or army in German) and bears the correct Waffenamt “211” proofs and early Weimar eagles. The additional markings are Norwegian (HÆR meaning Hæren (Army) where it remained until recently before being imported by us. It is currently live and can own on an FAC with the correct variation or can be deactivated with a working action.

We have a good but limited section of original WWII slings, sight hoods and cleaning rods available to fit this carbine. Please ask for prices and details.
