Product Information

This is a Second World War Portuguese contract Nazi K98 that was manufactured by Mauser in 1941. The receiver bears the royal crest of Portugal and wartime Mauser S/42 codes and proofs "Eagle over 63 & 655". In Richard D Law's book " The Backbone Of The Wehrmacht - The K98k Rifle", he states that although intended for Portugal the Wehrmacht diverted large numbers of these rifles to its own forces with the Portuguese markings still intact. He also states that diverted rifles that were fielded are often found in "well worn" condition, exhibiting "considerable field use". This looks to be one of those rifles. The gun is covered in Nazi acceptance stamps but more importantly the stock bears the capital letter "H" Heer or Army property acceptance stamp. It still retains nearly all of its original matched parts apart from the bolt which is itself Portuguese issued and is matched to itself.

This particular example has just been imported by us from Germany where it had been in private ownership for many decades.

It is chambered in the same 7.92mm ammunition as standard German K98s. If you are looking for a WWII Nazi weapon that has definitely seen action then this is the rifle for you!
