Product Information

This is an original 1844 dated British made Enfield, model P1842 Lovell's Cavalry Carbine (with an early Enfield type lock Pattern), chambered in .69 (17mm). It still retains its Walnut stock that has the Enfield roundal and inspection stamps and is also stamped with the number 164. This would represent the rack/weapon number or regiment that it was issued to. The lock is marked with the royal cypher VR - Victoria Regina and the Enfield name and date of 1844. These markings indicate that it was probably part of a Private Contract for a Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. On the left side of the wood work opposite the lock is the initials "I.S". This carbine may well have been used by the EIC / EIG or during Crimean War History. The gun has a full working action and can be cocked and dry fired, and comes fitted with a loading rod and soft leather sling.

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
