Product Information

This is a scarce Fabriques d’Armes "Centaur" Colt New Model Army .44 percussion revolver. During the late 1950s Colt approached Belgium gun makers Fabriques d’Armes with the intention of using them to produce high quality copies of their own historic percussion models. The idea was to capture the ever growing demand in Europe. A deal was done and in the early 60s Fabriques d’Armes starting making small quantities of Colt 1960s models. These revolvers were manufactured to an extremely high standard. One testament to its superiority over the more common "other" Italian example is the fact that all parts will interchange with “originals”. By the time Fabriques d’Armes ended production in the mid 1970s, only some 60,000 examples of both the US-bound “Centennials” and those produced for sale in Europe were made in various configurations, finishes, and markings. The quality of this example is clearly apparent when compared with any of the other Italian reproductions currently available, or from the same period. From the serialization used this revolver would be number 3099th. A relatively early example. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
