Deactivated Yugoslavian manufactured M53 light machine gun. Manufactured using the abandoned machinery left by the retreating Nazi army. These post war machine guns are identical to the Wartime models (MG42). Still in use around the world today, they are still a formidable weapon being capable of rattling off over 1200 rounds per minute. This example looks to have seen active service with a considerable impact to the top cover, possible from a shrapnel or a bullet strike. Comes with leather sling, drum magazine and belt with 7.92mm inert rounds and spare barrel case. A great looking display item. Deactivated with a full working action. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
