This is a rare Fabrique Nationale (FN) FAL 7.62mm Military Self Loading Rifle. This model was only ever issued to the West German border guards. Some were eventually assigned to German army units. It has a distinctive and unique removable prong flash hider - which is numbered to this rifle. It was designated the G1 (Gewehr 1) and marked Gew Kal 7.62mm. FN only made this model for West Germany, for around one year in the late 1950s and in limited numbers. Very similar in design to the SLR it is capable of selective or fully automatic fire. Deactivated in 1990 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
