Product Information

An original US made B.A.R. (Browning Automatic Rifle) made by the Royal Typewriter Company Inc . Dated December 1952 (12,52), as used by US forces during the Korean War (1950-1953), with many seeing active service again during the Vietnam War. Only 61,000 M1918A2 BARs were manufactured by Royal Typewriter Company. This example has the correct US military ordnance and carcouche markings. The 'AA 1061' stamped on the receiver indicates Augusta Arsenal rework, which is a very good indication that this example saw active service and returned after the Korean War. This is further supported as the Augusta Arsenal was closed down in 1955. The overall condition would also suggest it saw use again most likely during Vietnam. A very accurate weapon in full-auto fire it was almost too accurate. At the standard 1,000-inch machine-gun target, the M1918A2 BAR could place one full 20- round burst into a 2x3-inch rectangle. First introduced during WWI, the BAR saw active service throughout WWII, Korea and Vietnam, to name a few.

Deactivated with working safety, selective and automatic fire lever, it has a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Comes with inert .30.06 rounds.

Due to new Home Office regulations imposed on this type of weapon, BARs are no longer available with this type/level of deactivation. They are now welded solid without any moving parts.
