Deactivated US M1 Garand by Harrington & Richardson

This is a rare Harrington & Richardson made US military issued M1 Garand rifle. Production of the H&R M1 rifles was very short lived, beginning in 1953 and ceasing in May 1956, by which time 428,600 rifles had been delivered. Two batches were completed, this rifle is from the first batch and dates to 1954. Serial numbers ran from 4,660,001 to 4,800,00. Although closely associated with US infantry units from WWII, the M1 continued in service with the US for many years and being used in post WWII conflicts.

Deactivated to currents specifications with tensioned cocking lever, moving trigger and working safety.
