Product Information

A rare and unusual Varan PMX90 pistol. It was manufactured in South Africa in order to circumvent the arms embargo which was in force against it. During the apartheid era of the late 1970s until the mid 1990s, the South African government could not legally purchase military weapons. The development of this pistol began in the early 1980s and went into production in the mid 80s. The design is taken from the legendary Browning High Power and was a relatively modern pistol for the time. Like the HP it works off double action and fires the same 9mm round. It retains its original factory finish, grips and magazine. This one looks to be a fairly early example with a low four digit serial number. You are unlikely to see another!

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
