Very rare old specifications deactivated Armalite AR10 Sniper Rifle. We think that this maybe one of only a few, of its type ever seen deactivated in the UK. Sniper variants such as this one, would only make up a tiny fraction, possible just a few hundred of the total of under 10,000 ever made world wide. There are three main variants, the Sudanese model, the Transitional, and the Portuguese. But also, a carbine and sniper models were produced in very small numbers. We think, that this one may have been made to special requirements, as it is has distinctive sprung loaded telescopic bipod legs and barrel heat shield above the foregrip. The mounting points for the scope are visible on top of the carry handle, the flash hider is threaded for a silencer, and it has a"crackle" finish to the metal work. Also, unusually, the stock and foregrip are wooden. A very interesting gun. A classic design and the Daddy of the M16. The AR10 was an excellent weapon and fired the hard hitting 7.62 NATO round. A historic weapon and much rarer than the M16. A true modern classic. Deactivated to old specifications it has a full working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
