WWI P17 Rifle The Model of 1917 was the most widely used small arm by the United States Expeditionary Force in WWI and also the British Home Guard during WWII. As the P17 looked so similar to a P14 (the other Home Guard weapon) which fired the standard .303 round they would normally have had a red stripe painted around the woodwork to indicate it was in 30/60 calibre and not .303 as using incorrect ammunition could have fatal results.
An excellent condition example complete with its canvas sling.
