The Enfield L39A1 British military target rifle. The L39A1 were converted using WWII No4 MKI & post war MK II rifles by Enfield from specially selected stocks that were being held at the REME depot in Donnington. Using these actions Enfield converted them to chamber the then new military 7.62mm NATO ammunition, fitting a heavier barrel and shortening the forward wood work. The result was an excellent, reliable and very accurate rifle, ideal for marksmanship and when in scoped form a formidable sniper rifle. Only military rifles were designated as the L39A1. This example is one of those rifles and is still in super original condition. Dated 1972 with matching numbers to bolt and wood work it is fitted with the correctly coded magazine with Parker Hale adjustable peep hole sights. It also has British military broad arrow acceptance stamps. Although not pictured the cheek piece will be supplied with this rifle. Chambered in 7.62mm it can be owned on an FAC with the correct variation.
