Product Information

This is the Greener's Police Gun under lever shotgun, chambered in 12 bore. Manufactured by W.W.Greener, it was first introduced in the early 1920s at the request of British colonial police forces who required a suitable firearm for riot control and prison guard duty. Using the Martini Henry action Greener produced this , the "Police Gun". Another request was that the gun should use proprietary ammunition, not available through commercial channels. This was done to prevent its illegal use if stolen or taken from the police thus making it more complicated for criminals to utilise. Another design feature was its weight, it could be used as club or battering ramp. So good were these guns that they are still in service today around the world. The markings on the underside of the stock "T27" are most likely reference to the police force or prison it was issued to. Still in very good condition with its original wood work. The bore is in very good condition. It can be owned live on a shotgun license or can be deactivated to order. Comes fitted with the correct canvas SMLE sling.
