An original US H.M. Quackenbush, Herkimer .22LR take-down, single shot rifle. Circa 1898. This example has the retailers name "Pape Newcastle" and London proof house stamps. Pape were maker of high quality shotguns and firearms during this period are still in business although are now called Bagnall and Kirkwood. This type of model is often referred to as the "Safety" rifle. It was popular in the US and was in production from 1893 until 1920. It still retains its original factory finish and wooden stock. This historic US made rifle can be owned live with an FAC with the correct variation. The bore is in reasonable condition throughout and the action works perfectly every time.
