Product Information

This is rare WWII Carcano M1938/43 short rifle. Manufactured at the RE Terni arsenal it is dated 1941 with matching numbers. Although referred to as a rifle it shares more similarities with a carbine. The barrel length measures only around 18 inches and being chambered in German, Mauser 7.92mm it must have one hell of a kick!! The M-1938/43 is an M-1938 Short Rifle modified to fire German 7.9mm Mauser ammunition. The large S on the receiver was added to identify that is was a German army conversion. During the war they were issued to Italian and German troops, and latter on in the war to the Volkssturm. The calibre was stamped in front of the rear sight (7.9) with material removed from the receiver ring to allow the longer 7.92mm round to extract cleanly. The bolt was also modified accordingly. The unusual paint markings of the stock maybe of Egyptian, Israeli or Asian origins. An FAC with the correct variation is required to purchase this rifle. Can be deactivated to order.
