An original all matching numbers French Lebel Rifle model of 1886. This example was manufacture Nationale d'Armes de Châtellerault (MAC) is dated 1898 and is military issued. All French military rifles were fitted with stacking rod and bayonet lugs. It was the standard infantry rifle of the French army and served throughout the First World War with front line troops and during the Second World War with both French forces and with the French resistance and partisans. Considering this rifle is 117 years old it is still in very good condition. This is a repeating rifle that can hold eight rounds. It incorporates a clever spoon shaped cartridge lifter mechanism to feed rounds in from the loading tube which runs underneath the barrel. The Lebel rifle had the distinction of being the first military firearm to use smokeless powder ammunition. A super rifle that has remained in tact and complete through both world wars. An FAC with the correct variation is required to purchase this rifle. Can be deactivated to order.
