Product Information

This is an early pre WWII Mauser manufactured K98. 1936 was the first year the S/42 secret code was used as was the Waffenamt “63” stamp. Mauser produced around 270,000 carbines that year supplying the German army, navy and airforce. Small quantities were also diverted to the SS. This lovely example has its original solid wood stock and top piece and is  from only the second batch of 1936. Only number 14,694th of that year. This K98 would have been involved in some of the first hostilities of the Second World War before being shipped to Norway, where it was eventually captured by the Norwegians and issued to its own armed forces. The additional markings HÆR = Army Land Forces. Chambered in .30.06. it has a mint bore! An FAC with the correct variation is required to purchase this rifle. Can be deactivated to order.

This K98 is brand new to the UK live market having just been imported by us and have just passed UK proof. We have original slings, cleaning rods and sight hood covers available.
