Product Information

WWII Lithgow SMLE No1 MKIII* .303 rifle, dated 1942. A lovely example with matching numbers except for the bolt which is Aussie issued and marked. The bore is in exceptional condition and is one of the best we've seen. During the Second World War Australia produced various British pattern weapons to arm its own forces. Although Australian forces fort against Nazi Germany, with some units being deployed in Europe, the vast majority of its forces fort against the Japanese, playing a key role in the Pacific War with US forces. Lithgow built very few SMLEs during WWII making these fairly scarce rifles. This lovely rifle is in proof and ready to shoot. A section 1 firearms license with the correct variation is required to purchase live. Can be deactivated to order with a working action at an additional cost.
