A very impressive pre WWII German artillery shell. Dated 1936 it is Nazi marked with the early drop winged Eagle and WaA107. The initials S.F.H.18 stand for Schwere Feld Haubitze 18 , or heavy artillery field gun, 150mm. These guns were used to defend the beaches of Normandy during the Allied invasion of June 1944. Very few guns of these massive were made, around 2300 during wartime production.
