Product Information

This is an early Second World War German MG34 machine gun Lafette. Unlike most that are encountered this one is compete and unmodified. The serial numbers on the carriage and traverse are matched. It is dated 1939 with the correct makers mark S323 within a triangle - Brandenburger Fahrrad und Motorradwerk, Excelsior and Waffenamt stamps on all the main parts. The search fire mechanisms were not matched or made by the same companies as the Lafette makers, and instead sub-contacted to specialist manufacturers. This one was made by Heinrich H Klussendorf Werkzeuge, Berlin-Spandau (makers code HHK), it also dated 1939, with serial number 1601 b. The entire Lafette is covered in a plethora on Waffen stamps. As is to be expected these early examples saw extensive and heavy use, being used throughout the war on all fronts and in all conditions. Lafette's were often repainted in the field depending on where they were being used. This one still has its original leather carry pads and spare bolt compartment, and is still in perfect working order. A great item to display an MG34 with.

It is available with the original MGZ40 scope pictured, but is NOT included in the price. See product code; 8XMK4 for more details.
