Product Information

This is a very impressive BAT round, pre Falklands War. The Battalion Anti Tank (BAT) was a 120mm Recoilless Rifle introduced into service in the 1950s. It could be towed by or mounted on a Land Rover. It was capable of engaging targets up to 2000m typically firing a High Explosive Squash Head (HESH) round. There are three main variants the BAT, MOBAT and WOMBAT, the first generation  BAT rounds being the most sought after. It stands around 128cm high and weighs well over 10 kilos. Both brass shell and projectile have lots of markings and several dates ranging from 1966 to 1981. These dates and codes reflect its use and reuse within the British army.

It is pictured next to a 20mm and .303 round to emphasize just how massive this round is in comparison. Both rounds are available but not included in the price.
