A First World War British No2 stick/hand grenade. It is correctly marked on the body with the manufactures name " Marten Hale Powder Cotton Ltd" and has a British broad arrow acceptance stamp at the base with the no 42. The No2 was adopted by the British army in 1914. It was used in two configurations as a hand or rifle grenade.
