An Original WWII US Colt 1911 Leather Holster by Joseph H Mosser. US roundal on the flap. On the back is the maker and year (1942) and belt hoops. On the inside of the flap is what looks to be a letter "C", possibly representing C Company? This holster would have been amongst the first batches issued after the US was drawn into the second world war after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour in December 1941. Making this maker very sought after. It's also not the standard brown tanned colour. US marines and Air force pilots are known to have used very dark brown or black holsters.
