Product Information

A late WWII production, D-Day era SMLE 1907 Pattern Bayonet with Scabbard. The bayonet has just the bend mark "X" and broad arrow acceptance stamp. During this period of the war the emphasis was on production numbers, the finish wasn't important. The scabbard is broad arrow stamped followed by M44 JJB 44. M44 was the code for JB Brooks and Co (Birmingham) and 44 is the date stamp 1944. The canvas frog has faint ink stamped numbers. Along with SMLE's this bayonet also fitted the Lanchester SMG that were in service with the British Navy and RAF during WWII.
