Product Information

This is an early WWI fencing musket. It was used to train soldiers and recruits hand to hand combat during the First World War. Dated 1915 with broad arrow acceptance markings. It was manufactured by CG Bonehill, Rifle Makers, Birmingham. The plunger at the end is sprung loaded and retracts when pushed. It was deemed safer to train with this and avoid accidental injury from a real bayonet. The overall dimensions represent that of a SMLE with bayonet fitted, the standard issued rifle of the day. Marked with the letter "X", this is to identify it as a new pattern, which was approved in 1913. Complete and in good working order.
