Product Information

The Imperial German Navy Luger is itself is a rare beast but, the holsters are even rarer with very few surviving. Under the strict regulations enforced by the Allied powers after WW1, namely the Treaty of Versailles, this banned Germany from having weapons longer than 100mm, the Navy Luger was one of those weapons that fell into this category. Barrels were removed and replaced with shorter standard ones before being reissued. The holsters were either modified, sold or simply scrapped as there was no longer a pistol to fit them properly. Thankfully this one has remained in tact. The maker is R. Kuhlewein & Co. Erfurt with date of manufacture 1916. Inside it is stamped "B.A.III." Bekleidungsamt des Armeekorps or Army Corps clothing depot, this means that this holster was issued with a Naval Luger. The leather pull cord, take down tool and cleaning rod compartments are all in tact. The only alteration is to the strap hoops, this may have been a field mod or done just after the war ended. A very rare piece of WW1 and Luger history.
