Product Information

This is an extremely rare Johann Peterlongo, Innsbruck marked holster. Johann Peterlongo is a renowned Austrian gun maker who manufactured handmade and bespoke rifles such as Drillings, Side by Side shotguns and rifles, over-and-under rifle/shotguns (combination guns). Often, these in house manufactured firearms were unique one-offs being tailor made to the clients specific requirements. Their factory in Innesbruck was founded in 1854 by Johann Peterlongo and continued manufacturing firearms there until 1918. Very occasionally they were commissioned to produced handguns. This holster would have been for one of those guns. The inner lining shows evidence of housing a small revolver or pistol. Its material construction is bordered with leather piping with a leather flap tang. Under the flap is a compartment for ammunition. On the back the belt hoop is stamp with Johann Peterlongo name and address. Peterlongo handguns are that rare that this holster may well be one of a kind!
