A German Army MG3 machine gun 7.62 x 51mm belt loader. All matching numbers and in used condition, it is in good working order. Utilizing the WWII German MG42 platform, the MG3 chambered was chambered for 7.62 x 51mm NATO ammunition. It was put into service in the late 1950s as the MG1 with Germany Army ( Bunderwehr) and received various upgrades and modifications during its service life being re- designated the MG42/59 and MG3 accordingly. The loader was designed so that it could be disassembled and stored in an MG42 ammunition can.
