Product Information

This is a superb WWII German M24 Stick Grenade (Potato Masher) or Stielhandgranate. Stick grenades were used by German forces during WWI & WWII. Nick named the "Potato Masher" by Allied troops due to its shape and design. This example still has the pull cord and porcelain ball intact plus deactivated fuse and wire. The head still bears the original stencils, Waffen stamps and designations and is dated 1939. The handle is dated 1938. This iconic WWII German grenade is now becoming increasingly hard to find. The initials "Sk.Do.II.11.39" are as follows; -Sk is the manufactured Lignosse, Spreengstoffwerk, GmbH, Werk Schonebeck, Elbe. "Do" is the explosive filling; Donarit and 11.11.39 is the date it was filled.
