An original WWI No36 MKI Mills Hand Grenade, or as its most commonly referred to as a Mills Bomb. The body was made by J.A.S. & S Ld " = James Allen Senior & Sons Glasgow" .The base plug was made by Elm Bank Foundry, Glasgow and is dated "10 17" = October 1917. A rare find! The No36 was one of variants that followed the No5, as designs were modified, and was also used throughout WWII.
