This is a rare British No6 MKI "carrot" mine. The base is dated 10/51 - October 1951. Marked as "Inert" , this would indicate that it was used for practice purposes. Introduced into service in 1948 with the British armed forces, very few exist as all stocks have been destroyed in order to comply with the Ottawa Treaty. It is complete with plunger, pin and cord.
