This is a rare WWII German "Stock" Anti Personnel Mine. It comprises of concrete/cement bottle shaped body with a thread at the top that the z.z. 42 pull fuse screws on to. The fuse is made from Bakelite making it far harder to detect. This mine used concrete with scrap metal mixed in. The Bakelite fuze was waterproof and the concrete resistant to seawater. A wooden stake would go into the hole in the base. The German's laid thousands of these mines of the beaches of Normandy, often linked together with one another. Understandably very few now exist. A great piece.
