This is a WWI British Mills Fragmentation Hand Grenade No5 MKI. The brass base cap is dated September 1916 (9/16), the maker is Bullers Ltd, who were based at No 6 Laurance Pountney Hill, London. These grenades are most commonly referred to as a Mills Bomb. This example it is complete with all internal parts including spring and plungers assemble.
