This is a scarce 1940 dated French 47mm tank round for the Char B1. The Char B1 equiped with the 47mm gun were used in the defense of France in 1940. After the defeat of France, captured Char B1 were used by Nazi forces with some rebuilt as flamethrowers and others used as mechanised artillery.
