This is an original WWII  British No69 hand grenade. Designed in 1940, it is a high explosive impact grenade and replaced the Mills bomb. Made from Bakelite, it was only produced in limited numbers during WWII. This example is dated 1941 and still retains the original inner cord, paint and finish. A rare and interesting item.
