Product Information

This is one of the legendary Second World War Nazi "88mm" shells that is fitted with a rare armour piercing (AP) anti tank projectile. The AP round was specifically designed for knocking out Allied tanks and armored vehicles and was one of most feared and deadly German weapons of WWII. Originally it was intended for use as a Flak gun, but was also found to be very effective as a ground weapon. The same round was also fired from the German Tiger 1 tanks that were equiped with the KWK 36 L/56 gun. The 88mm shell was more than capable of knocking out any of the Allies tanks or armored vehicles. There are many recorded accounts of Allied tanks being struck by an 88 round, and it simply going straight through the tanks armour and out the other side. This example has all the correct Nazi acceptance and Waffen stamps, original wartime finish and hand painted number 1 on the projectile.
