This is a 1943 dated German Luftwaffe armour piercing MG151 cannon round. It was developed specifically for the German air force and was only used by them. This example is unusual as it still has the fragmentation piece in the projectile. Both case and projectile are dated 1943. The case is Luftwaffe marked. These rounds were fired by German gunners whilst defending themselves against British Spitfires.....!
