This is a rare WWII No36M instructional cut away Mills grenade. The body was made by TAS = T. Ashead & Sons, Dudly Worcestershire. Its very unusual to find examples with the cut out quarter section still in tact. The base plug is the type that was fired from a cup launcher attachment that was fitted to the Lee Enfield rifles. Just visibl is the dated "40" 1940.
